Support Summer Camps in the Arts

At the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, we believe that the arts are a vital component of a full and happy life. By giving to the Pre-College Summer Camps in the Arts fund, you can support the mission to provide more opportunities in the arts for our community.

Research has shown that youth arts programs are associated with higher high school graduation rates, better academic performance and improved problem-solving skills. However, K-12 school programs receive less funding year after year, making it harder for students to have hands-on educational experiences in the arts.

At Texas Tech we strive to fill this gap, by offering camps in the arts with productive, academic-focused summer activities for middle and high school students where they can work with talented faculty, make lifelong friends and cultivate their passion for music, theatre or visual arts.

Current summer camp opportunities affiliated with the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts include:

• School of Art Pre-College Immersion Program
• School of Music Band & Orchestra Camp
• School of Music All-State Choir Camp
• UIL Theatre Camp
• UIL Technical Theatre Camp

We believe the arts are an activity for the community and cost should never be a barrier to access. By making a gift to the Pre-College Summer Camps in the Arts you are helping us provide opportunities in the arts for students throughout our community, setting K-12 students on a path to higher education while giving them experiences that will last a lifetime.
