Javelina Rodeo Team

The Texas A&M University–Kingsville Rodeo Team is a competitive collegiate team open to students of all majors, competing in the Southern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). The program promotes academic excellence, athletic achievement, and the preservation of western heritage while preparing students for success both in and out of the arena.

Team members compete in five fall and five spring rodeos throughout the region, gaining valuable hands-on experience that extends far beyond competition. Through participation, students develop leadership, discipline, time management, equine care, teamwork, and the ability to balance rigorous academics with extensive travel. These experiences build confidence, resilience, and lifelong skills that prepare graduates for success in their careers and communities.
