Preserve the Legacy of Texas A&I Football

Help the South Texas Archives raise $25,000 to preserve more than 120 reels of Texas A&I football games from the 60’s and 70’s.

Among our collections are more than 120 reels of Texas A&I football games from the 1960s and 1970s. These films preserve a piece of Texas A&I's athletic history from more than half a century ago. While we know the reels contain football games, there is much more to discover, such as the momentum and raw energy of a game. Professional digitization will let us safely preserve the footage and allow all Javelinas to experience these historic games for themselves.

Film is a fragile format that continuously deteriorates over time; preserving these delicate reels requires expert digitization. Through this joint effort, we aim to bring these classic games to the 21st century, ensuring the dynamic legacy of A&I football is viewable now and in the future.
