School of Natural and Social Sciences Priorities

When making a OneSU gift to the School of Natural and Social Sciences, consider supporting any the priorities identified by Dean Kathy Straub:

• The general School of Natural and Social Sciences Fund, which allows Dean Straub to direct funding where it is needed most.
• The school’s summer research program, which supports students in working directly with a faculty mentor for an 8-week period in the summer months.
• The Center for Environmental Education and Research, which is an 87-acre field station where research and learning come together with beehives, campus garden, solar array, ecology research plots, walking trails and a riparian buffer restoration site.
• The Freshwater Research Institute, which is also located at the Center for Environmental Education and Research and encourages the collaboration of scientists, educators, conservationists and restoration practitioners within the Susquehanna community who are dedicated to understanding and improving the ecological health of Pennsylvania’s waters.
