School of Social Welfare Fund for Excellence

Your contributions will support the Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare Fund for Excellence — an essential resource that supports the school’s most emergent and urgent unbudgeted needs and our ability to cultivate, nurture and propel our academic and research excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Fund for Excellence enhances our students’ intellectual, cultural, social and professional development through various clubs and programming initiatives. It also provides opportunities that support academic excellence and student enrichment.

Each year, we hold Community Learning Day — an interactive day of activities and presentations that brings together students, faculty, staff and guest speakers to consider the pressing challenges of our 21st century world. This fund makes that possible.

Our programs are dedicated to addressing social issues and improving the quality of life for individuals and communities. Your support helps us fund critical research, provide educational opportunities and implement programs that drive positive societal change.

Further, it supports pivotal experiential learning opportunities like the Campaign School for Social Workers, Advocacy Day in Albany and Social Work Day at the United Nations. It also enables us to create programming that links our alumni to current students, keeping the SSW network strong.
