Gifts to SBU Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) contribute to...
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at Stony Brook University is part of a nonprofit national organization. SHPE isn’t exclusive to engineers but encompasses all STEM disciplines and is open to individuals of all backgrounds. SHPE at Stony Brook is more than just a club. ¡Somos una familia! (We are a family.) We create a sense of community that fosters everlasting friendships and memories.
Our goal is to help members in leadership, professional and academic development. We also assist with public speaking skills, connect students with alumni and company representatives and host regular study sessions.
Our club also believes in making a positive community impact. By hosting STEM activities for local middle and high school students every semester, we give the next generation of engineers the tools they need to prepare for college in hopes of pursuing a STEM degree.
For this school year, SHPE aims to send members to the 2025 and 2026 SHPE National Conferences, but we do not have the ability to attend from our USG budget alone. Your support will go directly toward travel costs, conference registration tickets and hotel/hospitality expenses. Your support will also contribute to our STEM outreach events for middle and high school students, including supplying STEM kits, materials, prizes and food/refreshments for all participants.
Thank you for your support of SHPE!
