Caribbean Student Organization (CSO)

The Caribbean Student Organization (CSO) is dedicated to fostering student collaboration and cultural connectivity. We host popular events throughout the year, including our annual fashion show, Flashback Fete and weekly general body meetings.

Our fundraising project is essential to sustaining and expanding the wide range of events we provide for the Stony Brook community. Flashback Fete, for example, invites students to enjoy music, history and meaningful connections within the West Indian community. While rooted in Caribbean culture, this event is open to all, reflecting our mission of embracing diverse cultural identities and creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere on campus.

One of our largest and most anticipated events is our annual fashion show, which attracts over 200 attendees and features more than 50 participants. This event requires significant resources for costumes, decor and production support to ensure a memorable experience for every model and guest.

In addition, we host galas, cultural celebrations and engaging general body meetings that bring students together and build community. With donor support, we can enhance the quality of our fashion show, strengthen our signature programs and continue creating enriching opportunities for students to learn, connect and celebrate culture throughout the year.
