Stony Brook Marine Science Club

The Marine Science Club at Stony Brook University is a recognized student organization that empowers students in the marine sciences and biology fields through networking, education and community building. While we receive limited school funding, we strive to provide engaging events and opportunities for our members.

Now in our 10th anniversary year, we’ve hosted weekly meetings, launched the Beyond the Brook whale-watching event, organized aquarium visits, beach cleanups and Southampton campus trips, and held graduate student talks, craft nights and mental health awareness events. These experiences create a welcoming space where students can learn, connect and grow together.

With additional support, we can expand opportunities such as aquarium and boat trips, increase event capacity for our large membership and sustain popular traditions such as tote bag painting nights. Currently, our budget often covers only a fraction of event costs, limiting participation.

Your support will help us continue creating meaningful, hands-on experiences in marine science for the entire Stony Brook community.
