Gifts to Stony Brook Equestrian Team contribute to...
The Stony Brook Equestrian Team offers students the chance to learn horsemanship and compete in intercollegiate shows, welcoming riders of all levels, from beginner to advanced. It is a great way for students to get off campus, enjoy the fresh air and build sportsmanship, teamwork and a safe, supportive environment for everyone.
Founded in the 1960s by George Lukemire, recently inducted into the IHSA Hall of Fame, the team made history as the first nationally recognized IHSA champions in 1971. Looking to the future, we aim to strengthen our presence on campus through new events and provide our members with the best possible experience, ensuring Stony Brook remains one of the most respected and successful teams in IHSA history.
As we compete this fall, we are seeking support from our community to help cover essential expenses that keep our team running. This includes horse show entry fees, home show costs, horse rentals, coaching fees and other critical resources. Without sufficient funding for these core needs, the future of our team could be at risk.
Thank you in advance for your continued support of our team; it truly means the world!
