Like many schools and communities, St. Lawrence University has never encountered anything like the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In true Laurentian spirit, alumni, parents, and friends from around the globe have asked how they may help students in need of assistance.
The Emergency Student Assistance Fund helps students with unexpected expenses related to COVID-19, and if funds are still available, other emergency expenses that may be incurred outside of COVID-19 for students. As Laurentians, you can provide immediate assistance to our students with a gift that will help with unplanned expenses such as travel, new technology for online classes, temporary housing and supplies, and storage and moving costs.
Among all the reasons we call St. Lawrence “home,” some of the most important are also the simplest: This place unites us. Your support and encouragement of our students can make a vital impact on their success. Thank you!
President Fox’s quote, “Laurentians look out for one another,” rings so true today. In just one week, more than 270 donors combined to raise over $60,000 for St. Lawrence University students who were financially impacted by COVID-19. Thank you all so much for this tremendous, collective sign of support for those in our community who need it most.
While we have surpassed our initial goal, our students’ needs continue to grow as requests are still being submitted. We continue to collect gifts towards the Emergency Student Assistance Fund, with our sights now set on $100,000!
