The SJC libraries’ archives house special collections and unique documents, many dating back to the founding of SJC over a century ago. Photographs and papers too fragile for handling have been scanned as part of preservation efforts. Purchase of a digital display monitor will enable us to showcase these treasures on the main level of Callahan Library, fostering an awareness among the college community of the rich heritage of SJC. Artifacts range from very personal memorabilia of alumni including class rings, charms, and scrapbooks to college publications such as course catalogs, student literary magazines, and commencement programs. It is hoped that the rich past of the college and the tireless efforts of the Sisters of St. Joseph will be preserved and publicized for current students and for generations to come.
