285 days ago by The St. Edward's FundOur donors and advocates are the GOAT — Love Blue Give Gold is off to a golden start!
Thanks to your gifts of time, talent, and treasure, weβve already reached 48% of our 350-donor goal, and the campaignβs only been live for a few hours. Your generosity is what keeps this Hilltop tradition climbing higher every year. π
But weβre not done yet — we still need 182 more donors by 11:59 p.m. tomorrow (10/9) to reach the peak! Last year, the Hilltop community broke records, reaching 181% of our goal. With your continued energy and spirit, we know we can surpass that milestone.
Let's keep spreading the word to the herd! Every time you share, post, or tag, you empower another Hilltopper to join the climb.
286 days ago by The St. Edward's FundThe School of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) maintains programs that provide the knowledge, perspective, and practical skills needed to pursue excellence in the fields of human behavior, social science, government, and history.
This year during #LoveBlueGiveGold, we're hoping to increase support for the following BSS funds:
The BSS Dean's Excellence Fund
This crucial general fund supports student internships and hands-on field experience. These experiential learning opportunities prepare students for graduate school and open doors for them to discover new career opportunities.
The Kozmetsky Center
The Kozmetsky Center supports and promotes student civic engagement through speakers, forums, and projects that connect our students and faculty with community leaders. By working with the Kozmetsky Center, students can gain valuable experience in solving problems of democracy through non-partisan and collaborative tools. Donating to the Kozmetsky Center will support student internships and fund practical student projects that solve real-world problems.
The MAC Clinic
The St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic provides low-cost counseling services to the greater Austin area. The clinic is staffed by interns from the MAC program and supervision is provided by faculty of the MAC program. The clinic will waive fees for counseling services for those in need. As a result, a large majority of the clients receive pro bono services. Funds are needed to pay for clinic supervision and on-call services, allowing more interns to provide services to those living in Texas.
The Dr. Tom Sechrest Endowed Scholarship
The Dr. Tom Sechrest Endowed Scholarship was established in 2021 through the generosity and commitment of alumni Daniel Guerrero '09, Cristela Gonzalez '16, Jessi Propst Wright '16, and Araminta and Tom Sellers '09. This endowment supports graduate students pursuing a career in leadership and honors Dr. Sechrest's career and legacy of service to others.
Social Work Student Professional Development Fund
Please consider making a gift to our Social Work Student Professional Development Fund, which directly supports students encountering financial barriers to completing their social work practicum, pursuing a license, or engaging in professional development activities.
