Mary Moody Northen Theatre

Help us celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of the Mary Moody Northen Theatre and the 100^th anniversary of the theater program at SEU with a gift of operating support today.

The Mary Moody Northen Theatre (MMNT) operates on a professional model and stands at the center of the St. Edward’s University undergraduate theater training program. Through MMNT, students receive the training, education, and experience necessary to pursue careers and create a foundation for a lifetime of learning. They also earn points toward membership in the Actor's Equity Association — the union of professional actors and stage managers in the United States. MMNT is the only undergraduate program in the U.S. to present an entire season of plays under Equity’s University/Resident Theatre Association agreement. Students work alongside professional actors, directors, and designers to create dynamic artistic work through this agreement. This relationship is a defining characteristic of the theater program at St. Edward’s and is fundamental to our students’ experience and professional preparation.

During this year’s Love Blue Give Gold campaign, our goal is to raise $2,500. To show your support for the program, please consider a gift toward the program’s operating expenses, which this year include an additional $56,000 for increased pandemic safety measures (testing, masks, sanitizer) as required by our Equity contract, on top of the production costs of more than $260,000.
