Enhance a Place of Peace: The St. Ambrose Grotto Project
The St. Ambrose Grotto is a cherished space on campus. A place where students, faculty, and staff can pause, reflect, and find peace in the midst of a busy day. It serves as a gathering place for weekly Mass and a quiet refuge for personal prayer and contemplation.
Now, we have an opportunity to make this meaningful space even more welcoming, accessible, and spiritually enriching.
The St. Ambrose Grotto Project will enhance the beauty and functionality of the grotto through several thoughtful improvements, including:
- Votive candles to encourage prayer intentions
- Circular kneelers surrounding the iron fencing for prayer and reflection
- A concrete extension to expand gathering space
- Improved lighting to create a warm, inviting atmosphere
- Landscaping upgrades
- New and additional benches to provide comfortable seating for visitors
Whether for quiet reflection, communal worship, or simply a moment of peace, these enhancements are designed to invite more members of our community into this sacred space.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of Jeanne (Rauth) '79 and James Sheehan, this project is already gaining momentum. Their $10,000 challenge gift will be unlocked once 25 donors make a contribution, creating an opportunity for every gift to have an even greater impact.
Join us on Day of Giving and help unlock this generous challenge gift as we make the St. Ambrose Grotto shine even brighter as a place of faith, beauty, and community.
