SAU Sport Management Program: Student Professional Development Fund

The SAU Sport Management Program focuses on athletics and business, equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to succeed in various sectors of the sports industry, including professional sports organizations, marketing agencies, event management companies, and community recreation facilities. We create and support student professional development opportunities in the sport management field.

We have an annual fundraiser through our capstone class. The students create and manage all aspects of an event of their choosing. This is in an effort to give them the real world experience of hosting a sports event. Though this effort, the students are in charge of all goal setting, marketing, operations, evaluations, and sales for the event.

All funds raised go towards student professional development initiatives. In the past, this fund has been used by students to attend conferences, attend job fairs, attend interviews, and other events benefiting the students.
