Gifts to Richard Geiger Endowed Lectureship contribute to...
Richard Geiger first stepped in front of a St. Ambrose classroom on Sept. 10, 1962. He retired in May 2001, after teaching history to thousands of students, many of whom remember him as a scholar, mentor and friend. Among the tributes past students offered when he retired were comments praising Richard's "genuine humanity" and his devotion to being "a true scholar" of history.
Established through gifts from Professor Geiger’s former students, family, friends, faculty and staff, the Geiger Lecture is an endowed lectureship established in honor of Richard Geiger.
Income from the endowment is used to fund an annual lecture in honor of his 39 years as a member of the history faculty. Additional gifts are welcome. As the endowment grows, other history events will be funded.
