Miles for Wall, Futures for All

Ken Wall G’73, DPE ’75 spent 40 years in teaching, coaching, scholarship and administration at Springfield College. Upon his retirement, the Dr. Kenneth A. Wall, G’73, DPE ’75 International Travel Award was established to help assist with the cost of international travel for deserving students who have proven high academic achievement and community service in their field and are participating in an international experience.

For years, Ken and Springfield College colleagues Bob Accorsi, Kevin McAllister, and Ben Taylor would set out on distance bike rides each Spring. They made fourteen trips in all in New England and Beyond.

Now, in memory of Ken, the three remaining members of the biking crew will head out on a 600-mile bike trip to raise funds for the Dr. Kenneth A. Wall, G’73, DPE ’75 International Travel Award.

From April 2 through April 11, Bob, Kevin, and Ben will traverse the East Coast of Florida, riding from Jacksonville to Key West, stopping to meet up with other Springfield College alumni along the way, just as Ken would do during his many trips across the country and abroad.

And you can join them in spirit by making a gift to the Dr. Kenneth A. Wall, G’73, DPE ’75 International Travel Award. All funds raised in support of this bike trip will increase Ken's reach in assisting with the cost of international travel.
