About

Ninety years ago, the first summer session of Springfield College Day Camp, what is today called Camp Massasoit, was held. And every year since then, Camp Massasoit has provided campers ages five to 15 with programs that are developmentally appropriate for each stage of their physical and cognitive growth.

To mark this special anniversary year, we would love to get 90 gifts of $90 or more to support the facilities and programming of Camp through the Friends of East Campus designation. As an added incentive, all gifts of $50 or more will be entered into a drawing for pre-registration for the 2026 season. Gifts of $90 or more, will receive TWO entries into the drawing.

Please make your gift to East Campus today to support purposefully designed experiential learning opportunities in an out-of-doors setting at Springfield College.

Striving to maintain a balance between skill development and sheer enjoyment, Camp Massasoit campers learn about the four areas of respect. The theme of respect is discussed every morning in opening ceremonies and is practiced throughout the camp day by our staff.

Respect Yourself
The staff guides the campers in positive decision-making while promoting self-discovery and self-appreciation across physical, cognitive, and social areas.

Respect Your Counselors
The essence of this goal is for campers to appreciate the guidance of individuals who have been professionally trained and are genuinely interested in the camper’s personal development, whether it is here at camp or back in the classroom.

Respect Your Peers
Counselors utilize the Challenge Course, cooperative games, and other team-based ventures to emphasize the value of diversity, trust, and peer leadership.

Respect The Environment
Through learning about the natural environment around them, campers learn how important protection and conservation are to the future use of the land. A variety of outdoor educational activities offer children experiences that enhance their understanding of and commitment to the environment.
