Gifts to Class of 2001 contribute to...
Dear Beacon Lights,
Our 25-year class reunion is nearly upon us! Planning is underway, and your Reunion Committee promises a weekend of renewal, remembrance, and reconnection. Let us reflect on the ways in which the College—and our class—have changed the world. Through trials and triumph, Spelman has been a constant in our lives, a wellspring of inspiration and strength. We will honor our 25 years since graduation with the same spirit of sisterhood that defined our time on campus. Let us forever shine brightly!
Please find below initial information about reunion weekend. As the Reunion Committee solidifies our class events and expenses, we will share details about class dues, which are collected separately from the registration fee paid to Spelman. Class dues fund the events specifically for the Class of 2001 (e.g., barbecue, brunch, etc.). More to come!
Save the Dates
Reunion is the third weekend of May 2026. Please save the dates of Wednesday, May 113–Sunday, May 17. Registration information can be found in the enclosed newsletter. We encourage you to register so that you can attend all on-campus reunion events and the culminating True Blue Gala.
Ways to Give
In celebration of this milestone reunion, we have set an ambitious goal: to raise $1,250,000 as a five-year cumulative class gift to Spelman College. We need every Beacon Light—all 437 classmates—to give what they can toward this goal. No gift is too small; every contribution—whether $25, $250, $2,500, or more—demonstrates the strength of our unity and the depth of our love for Spelman. Please ensure that the College receives your gift no later than Friday, May 1, 2026.
To reach our goal, we need a few classmates to go above and beyond by making a Leadership Gift of $25,000. If you would like more information about Leadership Gifts, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Giving back is simple and meaningful. You can make your gift:
- Give to Spelman Strong (formerly the Annual Fund) and/or the Class of 2001 Endowed Scholarship Fund.
- Through employer matching programs—double the impact of your donation!
- By making a pledge (or scheduling automatic recurring gifts) to give over the next few months—all pledge amounts must be received in full by Friday, May 1, 2026.
With your generous support, we will help ensure that Spelman continues to thrive for another 145 years and beyond. If you are considering your first gift to Spelman, know that your contribution—no matter the size—will be cherished and celebrated.
Connect with us on social media (Facebook: Spelman College Class of 2001 Reunion; IG: @Spelman_2001). We hope you will consider giving of your time, talents, and treasure to make this milestone reunion truly unforgettable. If you have questions, feel free to email the Reunion Committee at SpelmanCollege2001@gmail.com.
Make your travel plans now, buy a new white dress or white pant suit (yes, pants are acceptable now), and get ready to shine! Oh, Spelman—shine!
On behalf of the Reunion Committee, thank you for the light you bring to Spelman.
In the spirit of Spelman,
Anissa D. Floyd
