Class of 1961

Dear Spelman Classmates of 1961,

We are excited to announce that preparations are underway for our 65th Class Reunion, scheduled for May 13–17, 2026.

This milestone is a testament to the remarkable journey we have had since graduation, and we look forward to celebrating this special occasion with you. Representing our class on the college’s Planning Committee are Anne Borders-Patterson, Gwendolyn Ferrell Elmore, and Ann Day Smith. In addition, from time to time as your class reps we will host Zoom meetings with all classmates whose email addresses we currently have on record. Telephone calls will be made by reps as well as other members of our class, especially to persons who do not use email.

Registration is required for all reunion participants. Also the college has reserved a block of rooms at selected hotels for interested alumnae. Details such as specific costs, deadlines, dates and college sponsored activities are included here in the Spelman Newsletter. Please take note of this important information. For example, Friday, May 15, 2026, is the day we wear the traditional white dress to honor our tradition of marching through the Alumnae Arch.

We invite you to share your ideas, questions and any suggestions regarding the upcoming reunion. Your input is invaluable as we work to make this event meaningful, memorable, and reflective of the spirit of the Class of 1961.
