TEN REASONS TO SUPPORT THE BUILDER FUND ON GIVING TUESDAY!

1. Support for Southwestern When it’s Needed Most

Builder Fund gifts allow the college to respond quickly to emerging needs and direct resources to the highest-impact areas.

2. Expand Student Scholarships and Financial Aid

Donor generosity helps close the gap between tuition and the true cost of education, making college accessible for students from all backgrounds.

3. Elevate the Quality of Teaching

Funds support faculty development, innovative curriculum design, assessment, and the tools instructors need to deliver exceptional, personalized education.

4. Strengthen Experiential Learning Opportunities

Annual giving underwrites community engagement and hands-on learning that prepare students for life after graduation.

5. Keep The Jinx Fed!

Yes, Builder Fund support even underwrites the care of our living Jinx cat. And Jinx has  become accustomed to a certain kind of lifestyle...

6. Enhance Student Wellness and Support Services

Counseling, advising, career development, and other student-centered services depend on reliable annual fund contributions.

7. Help the College Improve Facilities and Make Unplanned Repairs

As you might suspect, on a 140-year-old campus something always needs updated and/or repaired. Builder fund dollars help maintain buildings, upgrade technology, and ensure learning spaces remain functional.

8. Fuel Innovation and Strategic Initiatives

With flexible funding, the college can pilot new programs, and invest in initiatives that strengthen its long-term mission – such as a the planned PA (Physician Associate) program.

9. Build Financial Stability

Consistent annual support reduces dependence on tuition and provides steady revenue that helps stabilize the budget in uncertain times.

10. Demonstrate Confidence and Inspire Others

High participation from alumni, families, and friends signals trust in the institution and encourages foundations and major donors to invest as well.

AND A BONUS REASON: YOUR GIFT WILL BE MATCHED!
Thanks to an anonymous donor, your gift to the Builder Fund will be matched as part of the Giving Tuesday campaign!

If you have questions or need more motivation to make that gift, don't hesitate to reach out to the Office of Advancement at Southwestern College. (620) 229-6397
