In the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) you will find a vibrant collection of faculty and staff that produce and share cutting edge knowledge to not only educate the leaders of tomorrow, but to impact the well-being of society at large. We are committed to innovative developments across the human experience from safety and transportation to health and personal well-being. In CHHS we have six schools all uniquely developed to inspire and cultivate vision and achievement for a student’s personal and professional success in a diverse and changing society.

College of Health and Human Sciences Development Fund
- This fund supports the overarching mission of the College of Health and Human Sciences and its faculty, staff and students.
- At the Dean’s discretion, funds are used for faculty and staff professional development, facility and lab updates, and emergency student support.
CHHS Student Support Fund
- This fund provides financial assistance for scholarships, book and lab equipment purchases, and emergency support to College of Health and Human Sciences students.
CHHS Behavioral Health Support Fund
- The Behavioral Health Education and Service Center of Southern Illinois (BHESC) will be a comprehensive education, training, and service center composed of behavioral health disciplines of greatest need in the state of Illinois.
Clinical Center Development Fund
- Students from several nationally accredited graduate programs at SIU deliver direct clinical service to the community in the areas of mental health and speech and languages services. Funding support can help the clinic cover the cost of technology, hiring additional clinical supervisors, and creating training opportunities and program development for staff and students. All clinical work is supervised by licensed faculty and staff clinicians.
School of Health Sciences
The School of Health Sciences offers a wide range of high demand programs related to the healthcare industry. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to maintaining many programs specific accreditations and deliver quality educational experiences for our students. This is in effort to prepare our students for their profession that leads them to securing employment upon graduation.

School of Human Sciences
The School of Human Sciences is a leader in multidisciplinary research, education, and practice that promotes social welfare, sport, health, exercise nutrition, and recreation of our regional and global communities. We prepare passionate leaders by empowering students from all backgrounds to change their communities through experiential learning, interdisciplinary/hands-on research, innovative teaching, and service in inclusive and accessible environments.

The school’s three programs prepare students to enter the field as leaders and change agents, equipped with knowledge of evidence-based practices, legal and ethical principles, and problem-solving skills to improve individuals, communities, and criminal justice, public safety, and legal systems.

School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences
Psychology is simply about helping others. SIU psychology graduates provide the necessary tools to assist people to overcome problems and improve their lives. As a result, our campus is widely recognized for its commitment to improving society through our teaching and research as well as community outreach programs. School of Automotive
The SIU School of Automotive offers a unique, high-demand, bachelor’s degree in automotive technology with best-in-class job placement. Our innovative faculty emphasize hands-on learning opportunities – taking theoretical applications from the classroom and applying them, hands-on, in a state-of-the-art, automotive laboratory setting.

School of Aviation
The SIU School of Aviation provides students with a high quality and comprehensive aviation education in three different disciplines: Aviation Flight, Aviation Management and Aviation Technologies.
