The SIU University Farms is a 2,000-acre farm system that serves as the cornerstone of the Animal Science teaching program at our university. Located conveniently adjacent to campus, these farms offer students hands-on learning experiences that are integral to their education. The SIU Farm is adjacent to the SIU Campus with easy access via the Saluki Express bus system, where students can immerse themselves in the daily operations of the farm, gaining practical skills and knowledge that extend beyond the classroom.
Our farms are more than just a teaching tool—they are a living laboratory where students, faculty, and researchers work together to advance the fields of animal science, agronomy, horticulture, forestry, sustainable farming, soil science, and more. By supporting the SIU University Farms, you are investing in the future of agriculture and the next generation of leaders in the field.
