Gifts to The Southern Fund contribute to...
Most people do not realize that tuition and fees account for only a portion of Southern's annual budget. The state of Connecticut provides less than 35 percent of the funds that Southern needs to operate. Gifts to the Southern Fund create an essential bridge between tuition revenues and the actual cost of a Southern education, ensuring that students have access to a first-rate education.
Gifts to the Southern Fund are resources that can easily be directed to where they are needed most. Dollars raised from the Southern Fund are flexible and immediately available, enabling the university leadership to respond to ever-changing needs and circumstances for the greatest benefit to the entire campus community.

A Power Hour is an exciting, high energy challenge where donors compete to raise the most gifts in one hour for their favorite funds.
Each Power Hour has two winners - one from athletics and one from the rest of campus. The fund with the most unique donors during the designated hour will receive a bonus.
