Gifts to Public Health contribute to...
Southern's public health graduates work at local health departments, community-based agencies, hospitals, insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and nonprofit agencies like the American Red Cross. Just a few examples of the many other options include working in a community health center to eliminate health inequities; organizing community responses to health problems, such as lead poisoning; addressing the AIDS epidemic; promoting a healthy environment; designing public health policies and interventions; and leading international health relief efforts in less developed parts of the world.
Gifts to the Public Health Student Development Fund help students to attend conferences on public health. Their gratitude is boundless and lives are changed because of these experiences. In the words of one undergraduate student, “This scholarship gave me the privilege to attend the conference and allowed my growth as a public health professional.” A graduate student said, “I greatly enjoyed my time at SOPHE and feel very excited about my future as a public health professional! Thank you to all of the generous donors who made this experience possible for me!”
