All donations go directly to students in the form of scholarships, internship stipends, or classroom resources. All theatre internships are paid to ensure equity among applicants. Scholarships are awarded each year for Theatre majors.
Southern’s Theatre Department’s mission is to provide comprehensive theatre training of the highest quality, to foster students’ personal and artistic development, and to emphasize experiential learning and access to the profession.
Classes stand at the crossroads of all the arts -- literary, performing, visual, digital, and electronic -- and are open to all students. Whether you are looking for professional training or for a place to explore your artistic side, our classes and productions will strengthen your art and craft and deepen your understanding and appreciation of your own creativity.
The Theater Fund supports this outstanding program that provides access to incredible opportunities to engage in the highest quality artistic experiences -- especially at Southern’s outstanding regional award-winning theater companies. Funding allows students to experience unparalleled access to working with the very best theater professionals as guest artists and designers -- all of whom have Broadway and Off-Broadway credentials. This means that our students graduate with real-world experiences and immediate connections to the performance industry.

A Power Hour is an exciting, high energy challenge where donors compete to raise the most gifts in one hour for their favorite funds.
Each Power Hour has two winners - one from athletics and one from the rest of campus. The fund with the most unique donors during the designated hour will receive a bonus. Plan your donations and rally your colleagues and friends to win a bonus. Winners are announced on social media and on this page!
