The Connecticut Health, Athletic, and Mental Performance Center [CHAMP Center] located in the Health and Human Services building, offers numerous fitness, performance, and functionality assessments to members of the public and the SCSU community.
Gifts to made to CHAMP will help provide students with academic support and professional development opportunities. Exercise Science students receive hands on training under the guidance of faculty to perform fitness and performance testing on state-of-the-art equipment such as:

- Bod Pod Air Displacement for Body Composition
- YMCA Sub-Maximal Cycle Ergometer Test
- VO2max Test for Cardiorespiratory Fitness
- Wingate Test
- Biodex-Strength Assessment
- Resting Metabolic Rate
- Lactate Threshold
- Walking/Running Gait Analysis
