Gifts to Arts Administration and Cultural Advocacy Internship Opportunity contribute to...
The Arts Administration Internship Fund ensures that all Southern students minoring in Arts Administration and Cultural Advocacy – no matter their financial situation or professional and creative interests – can pursue a paid internship at an arts or cultural organization in the New Haven area.
In 2021, the Arts Administration and Cultural Advocacy minor was launched with one important goal: to give Southern arts and humanities students a foot in the door of careers in the creative sector. In just 4 ½ years, your donations to the Arts Administration Internship Fund have helped us place 37 students in paid internships at twenty-five different libraries, museums, theatres, orchestras, performing arts venues, and other non-profits and small businesses in Connecticut and beyond.
In 2025-2026, innovative student opportunities supported by the Arts Administration Internship Fund included:
Quinn, community outreach - International Festive of Arts and Ideas
Micah, development and fundraising - Best Video Film and Cultural Center
Searlait and Sofia, administration - Center for Contemporary Printmaking
Arrie, operations and marketing - Westville Village Renaissance Alliance
Nelani, marketing - Possible Futures Bookstore
Ollie, marketing – New Haven Symphony Orchestra
Wes, library intern – New Haven Free Public Library
Isaac, library intern – Institute Library, New Haven
Sofia, youth services – Southbury Public Library
Every dollar you donate to the Arts Administration Internship Fund directly supports a stipend so that future students like those above can learn, explore, and build professional connections in their chosen creative field. Each $15 gift supports one hour of creative internship experience; each $150 gift supports a full week of internship work; and gifts of $500 to $2000 support an entire stipend for a complete 1-4 credit internship.
Please give and help Southern students change the future of arts and culture!
