SC State Legal Pathways Initiatives- Connecting Bulldogs to the Legal Profession
At South Carolina State University, we believe in opening doors to opportunity and equipping our students with the experiences they need to succeed. The SC State Legal Pathways Initiative is designed to support students who are interested in exploring careers in the legal field—from aspiring paralegals to future attorneys.
This initiative connects pre-law students and those curious about the legal profession with hands-on, real-world opportunities through volunteer roles and unpaid internships in law firms, courtrooms, public defender’s offices, and other legal settings. These experiential learning experiences provide students with vital exposure to the profession, mentorship opportunities, and a deeper understanding of legal systems and career options.
In addition to experiential placements, the Legal Pathways Initiative helps ease financial barriers by offering scholarships and stipends for pre-law students and funding support for LSAT preparation and exam fees. By investing in our students now, we are helping to build the next generation of legal professionals who will advocate for justice and equity in communities across South Carolina and beyond.
