The Slippery Rock University chapter of Student Veterans of America (SVA) will continue its tradition of awarding a service dog to a student-veteran enrolled at Slippery Rock University at the annual Veterans’ Day ceremony. A committee selects one recipient.
Our partners at New Hope Assistance Dogs, pair the recipient with a dog and provide specialized training so the two become a team and the recipient gains greater independence in life. In addition to the service animal, the recipient also receives costs involved in acquiring the dog, a stipend to offset food, supplies, and veterinarian costs. The total cost for a service dog is around $5,000.
Your donation to this campaign will help provide, not only a service animal but even more importantly, more freedom for those who have served our country.
