Hunger and Homelessness Drive

In the United States alone, 40 million Americans are food insecure and 1 in 6 children face hunger each day. These numbers are expected to rise significantly as our economy continues to be adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Here at DOVE, we have always strived to put our faith into action as Christ taught, and to affirm the dignity of all people, which includes those that suffer the effects of food insecurity and homelessness.

We are asking our Seton Hall community to consider joining us for our Hunger and Homelessness Drive to respond to the very real threat of hunger faced by so many in our local communities, as well as our own community. Each week throughout our Hunger and Homelessness Awareness efforts, we will distribute your donations directly to the organizations served by DOVE, which include:

• St. John’s Soup Kitchen
• Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges
• Pierre Toussaint Food Pantry

Here is how your donation can make a lasting impact:

• Your $5 donation will purchase five canned items
• Your $10 donation will purchase three boxes of cereal
• Your $25 donation will purchase one day’s worth of food for a family
• Your $40 donation will purchase a large can of formula for a baby
• Your $100 donation will purchase a week’s worth of groceries for a family

Starting November 1st, when you make a gift in support of the DOVE Philanthropy Project, as a special thank you, you'll have the opportunity to receive one or two Pirate Christmas items.
