Seton Hall's Annual DOVE Toy Drive
During the Christmas season, DOVE provides gifts to schools and agencies located in Newark, New Jersey, to the Maplewood South Orange School District, and to the Don Bosco Youth Center. Additionally, the organization donates gifts for impoverished children in Appalachia, West Virginia, as it has done for more than 25 years. Many of these children would not receive a Christmas present if not for DOVE.
This annual effort is largely made possible through the generosity of the Seton Hall community. Last year, DOVE collected more than 2,000 toys from alumni, students, parents, and friends of the University. To learn more about this year's Toy Drive, click here.
Thank you for continuing to be a part of this Christmas miracle!
The Teddy Bear Project
This year, the DOVE Toy Drive is proud to include the Teddy Bear Project, founded in 2016 by a former Seton Hall staff member who recently retired. The project provides new teddy bears to CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) offices across northern New Jersey and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency in Newark, offering a source of comfort to children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. With thousands of children in foster care, the project’s goal is to one day give every child a new teddy bear to hug. By donating a new teddy bear or making a monetary contribution toward the purchase of additional bears, you can bring comfort, security, and a little hope to a child who needs it most.
