Day of Giving - Sustainability

At Scripps College, sustainability is not a buzzword, but a collaborative movement to reduce our environmental impact. Today on Scripps’ annual Day of Giving, I invite you to make a gift to advance our exciting sustainability initiatives!

Why give?

🌿 Our students are leading the way! In partnership with faculty and staff, students have helped launch Scripps’ Green Bikes program, our olive harvest to use edible campus plants as a food source, and residence hall composting (just to name a few).

🌿 Our greenhouse gas emissions are dropping: Thanks to sustainability efforts, from 2019 to 2023 Scripps’ emissions have decreased by 14 percent.

🌿 Awareness of the need for sustainable practices is growing: Scripps’ Earth Day Sustainability Fair, our largest annual event, welcomed 250 students last year!
