Since its founding in the late 1960’s, Animation has always been an emphasis area in the Film Department (now School of Cinema).
As of 2014, students can now earn a Minor in Animation. Currently, the animation lab is undergoing renovation and will have 18 digital animation workstations for the first time. The classroom will have a dedicated space for building leadership skills and we hope to expand our community with visiting artists, animators, and directors.
Our vision is to bring animation professionals to campus to screen their Academy Award winning animated films, to review portfolios and to give career and networking advice to students on a regular basis.
Happy Friday, Animation alumni and friends! Thrilled to announce that we’ve already decimated our goal of 25 donors — and there’s still a few hours left to give.
Think we can get to $8,000 and max out our Thomas Family dollar-for-dollar match challenge?
Please share the campaign with family and friends. Let’s support our talented future animators.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
A HUGE thanks to all of our Investing in Animation donors! We are already so close to hitting our 25 donor campaign goal.
Inspired by our progress, the family of the late Gordon Thomas has offered to provide a dollar for dollar matching gift (up to $8,000). A gift of ANY size will get us one step closer to unlocking up to $8,000 from the Thomas Family for their support of SFSU animation student annual awards, through the Gordon Thomas Memorial Scholarship and Endowment Funds.
Please encourage friends and colleagues to make a gift to Investing in Animation! A gift of ANY SIZE will be automatically DOUBLED.
