Medical Languages Club

The Medical Languages Club aims to bridge the gap between English-speaking healthcare providers and non-English-speaking patients to promote high-quality care for all.

We offer language classes and host workshops that teach students not only the words needed to communicate with patients, but also the cultural context that can influence patient care.

Effective communication in healthcare goes beyond language and requires an understanding of patients’ beliefs, customs, and traditions.

Funds raised through this fundraiser will support cultural comprehension workshops that help students develop this understanding.

These workshops will explore how cultural differences can affect how healthcare is communicated, understood, and delivered.

By building both language skills and cultural awareness, we hope to better prepare future healthcare providers to build trust and provide patient-centered care.
