At Samford, learning does not end when a class adjourns. It deepens—in worship and small groups, on debate floors and concert stages, through service in our community and across the globe. Coโcurricular opportunities are where students further put learning into practice, discover calling, and grow in wisdom and character.
Last year, the Parents Association created a scholarship to provide funding for students to have experiences outside the traditional classroom setting. This scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Phil Kimrey, vice president of student affairs — a lasting tribute that reflects the deep appreciation of our Samford community as Dr. Kimrey announced his plans to retire after 32 years of service. This year, the senior class gift is going towards this special scholarship!
