The Samford University Legacy League assists students with significant financial need and challenging life circumstances. Our scholarship recipients have faced obstacles including homelessness, abandonment, death or disability of a parent, inner-city violence, parental substance abuse and the sacrifices of full-time ministry.
A philanthropic organization with over 800 members, the Legacy League ministers to students in a variety of tangible ways. The 25 students in our cohort benefit from:
- Transformational scholarships
- Ongoing care from staff and volunteers
- Grocery items, food pantry access and book stipends
- Connections to campus resources
- Fellowship and home-cooked meals at monthly dinners
The Legacy League’s theme for their 100th anniversary is “Remember. Rejoice. Renew.” One of the ways they are continuing the legacy of faithfulness for students is through the creation of two new funds:
Legacy League’s 100th Anniversary Scholarship – will provide financial assistance for students with significant financial need and challenging life circumstances
Legacy League’s 100th Anniversary Student Care Fund – will help meet tangible needs (including book stipends, dorm supplies, grocery items and more) and provide co-curricular program assistance for cohort students.
