Support the Student Acquisition Program!

Saint Mary's College Museum of Art (SMCMoA) acts on the belief that art illuminates our lives.

For this One Day, we seek financial support for our newly launched Student-Led Acquisition Program, which provides a structure of student voice and permanence in the museum.

The Student-Led Acquisition Program allows students to apply theories of museum practice, public stewardship, and collections acquisitions. Students learn how to think like a curator and select works of art for the permanent collection. Through this course, students learn how to think like a curator by selecting, researching, and presenting a work of art for acquisition to the permanent collection. The program allocates $5,000 to support living artists, and students can select art reflecting contemporary culture and shifting values.
