About

The first celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLG), spearheaded by a student committee, began as a way for these students and their peers to live out their faith and culture at Saint Mary’s College. This tradition has continued ever since!

Year after year, our Saint Mary’s College Community has celebrated La Virgen with a week to two weeks of activities and events leading up to our culminating event: a Procession, Mass, and Fiesta.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in educational and fun activities as they learn and hear how La Virgen has a special place in people’s devotional and cultural lives. This past year, we averaged about 30 students at our smaller events. At our largest celebration, over 400 Saint Mary’s College Community members—students, alumni, staff/faculty, Brothers, families, and community partners—gathered in honor of Our Lady.

As we look to the future, please help the Mission and Ministry Center continue to offer this time-honored tradition that increases the visibility of our Latinx Community and magnifies this vital expression of faith.
