This 1Day1SMC — Saint Mary's big giving day — use your superpower of generosity to support our heroes of tomorrow — current and future students who've persevered through a year unlike any other and look to create a better world. 🦸
Your gift to any area of Saint Mary's and beyond will add to the generosity of other dedicated members of our Gael community. Generations of Gaels have paved the path for students to realize their full potential, and your support will allow them to reach new heights — to infinity and beyond!
Some exciting additional opportunities that your gift can help us unlock:
🌟 If 750 people make a gift to Saint Mary's College on 1Day1SMC, the Alumni Board will give $6,000.
🌟 If 1,000 people make a gift to Saint Mary's College on 1Day1SMC, members of the Board of Trustees and select former trustees will unlock $200,000 for the James A. Donahue Presidential Scholarship in honor of our retiring president.
🌟 Publicly post your SMC superhero photo on Instagram or Facebook between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 8 p.m. Wednesday. We will randomly select 4 posts that have the 1Day1SMC hashtag and a note about your favorite area of campus to support. (For example, "I support the Choir on #1Day1SMC" or "I love the Library #1Day1SMC"). Advancement staff will make an additional gift of $250 to each of the programs/schools/clubs/sports mentioned in the 4 randomly chosen entries. Areas must have a valid, existing fund in order to qualify.
Yesterday, we put out a call to our Gael family to help our current and future Saint Mary’s students — and the response was incredible. You, along with more than 1,100 other Gael superheroes, answered that call on 1Day1SMC: National Superhero Day edition!
With your help, we were also able to unlock two exciting challenges: $6,000 to the College from the Alumni board, and $200,000 from the Board of Trustees and select former trustees to the James A. Donahue Presidential Scholarship, in honor of our retiring president.
This came as no surprise — Saint Mary’s is where heroes are made, after all! Our students have heroes like Marisela, Maile, Fernando, Dr. Schuh, and you to help them on their journeys. Every hero has a story, and you became part of that story for our students.
You have proven that not all heroes wear capes — some wear headbands! We will be sending you your 1Day1SMC headband in the mail next week!
Thank you for stepping up and using your power of generosity to do good.
