Gifts to Service Learning in the Dominican Republic contribute to...
This year, a group of 15 students will be traveling to the Dominican Republic on an academic and service learning trip. Students will explore the science behind some of the Dominican Republic’s natural (and extremely tasty!) resources. Students will discover how chocolate goes from bean to bar, measure the sugar content of pineapples, and learn how agriculture and fair trade go hand in hand during a visit to a banana farm. Along the way, students will see how sustainable initiatives like agroforestry help crops go from farm to table.
Your generous donations will directly offset the tip expenses that students will need to pay while in the Dominican Republic. Each student needs to pay $80 to cover their tip costs. A donation of $40 covers half of the cost and a donation of $80 will completely cover the cost of the student, giving them financial freedom while learning from and experiencing life and business in the Dominican Republic.
