Gifts to Band Workshop With Disney Musicians contribute to...
34 of our Symphonic Band students will be traveling to Anaheim to participate in a 90-minute sight-reading session with members of Disney’s renowned music department and two days of fun and engagement at the Disneyland Park.
The musicians will work with a Disney clinician to ultimately "lay down" tracks for numerous popular Disney songs. This is truly a unique opportunity for our students who will be taking their skills and energy to the next level!
This is the first time that the SJND music department will be hosting such an event. We are hoping that the generosity of the SJND community will help us raise enough money to offset the costs while at the Park. This trip for the students represents the ultimate experience of bonding over a shared goal while "showing off" their musical skills and talent with the opportunity to learn from the professional musicians at Disney. SJND will be providing the students with memories that will last a lifetime.
Our students are our best ambassadors for the future. At SJND, we strive to teach our students that it's not just about academics, but about learning to be the best person you possibly can be. A lot of students join Band because they love music and it allows them to have a built-in "music" community where they can find common interests with each other and work hard together toward common goals.
There's nothing better than mastering a difficult piece of music and doing it together. Funds donated to the music department for our Disney trip further show our students that what they are doing as musicians and as a people is important to the community and to the world as a whole. During this time of post-pandemic struggle, a lot of our families need the support from donors to help their students participate in this "once-in-a-lifetime" band trip.
Costs of everything have increased, and this Disney trip is no exception. Food will be expensive at the Park and as we all know, it takes a lot of food to keep a teen-ager well fed! So, please give to our students and help support us as we travel to Southern California for an educational trip that speaks to us all.
