Areas of Greatest Need

Unrestricted funds support the University's areas of greatest need, providing Fredonia's leadership with the flexibility to meet the continually evolving needs of the Big Blue community. Gifts to this fund have an immediate impact, enabling the University to quickly support student projects and initiatives, critical financial needs and unforeseen challenges, and new opportunities to strengthen the Fredonia educational experience.

If you're looking to make a gift with an immediate impact, but would like to direct that donation toward a bit more specific purpose - we have two funds for your consideration:

• The Bicentennial Fund for Student Access and Persistence opens the door to opportunities at Fredonia for many students. This fund provides direct scholarship support to incoming students with financial need, many of them first-generation college students. The fund also supports current students who have barriers to continuing their studies at Fredonia. Your gift to the Bicentennial Fund enables talented students to attend Fredonia and achieve their educational goals at our university, honoring Fredonia's tradition of success while preparing for the ever-changing future.

• The Student Emergency Fund provides one-time assistance to students with financial need due to unforeseen circumstances. This fund was critical in helping our students transition to remote learning during the pandemic, and still provides much needed assistance to students who've had a medical or family emergency that's caused undue financial burden, or encountered an unexpected hardship in meeting their basic needs whether that's addressing food insecurity, covering lab or book fees, or travel expenses to get to an internship or home from campus. Your gift to the Student Emergency Fund could be the difference between a student being able to remain at Fredonia to continue their education and complete their degree.
