Help Send the SDSU Soil Judging Team to the 2026 National Contest

The SDSU Soil Judging Team recently earned 1st place at their regional competition, qualifying for the 2026 National Contest hosted by North Carolina State University. The team also took first place in both the group and individual judging competitions, an incredible achievement.

Soil Judging is hands-on, experiential learning at its best. Students will travel to North Carolina for four days of preparation and learning ahead of the contest. During that time, they study soil genesis, geology, morphology, classification, and land use while working directly in soil pits and applying classroom knowledge in real-world settings.

After several full days of practice and learning, students compete in both individual and team judging contests, putting their skills to the test.

All funds raised will go directly toward student travel and participation costs, helping make this national opportunity accessible to every team member.

Soils play a vital role in agriculture, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Your support helps prepare these students to become leaders in those fields.

Please consider making a gift to help send the SDSU Soil Judging Team to Nationals.
