About

State and Regional Bison Producer Conferences

How funds will be used

Funds raised by the Bison Club will be used to support hands-on, educational experiences that directly involve our members in the bison industry. This includes helping offset costs for students to attend bison-focused conferences, producer meetings, and educational tours. These opportunities allow members to engage directly with bison producers, veterinarians, researchers, and industry professionals, giving them real-world exposure beyond the classroom. Funding also helps make these experiences more accessible to a wider range of students by reducing financial barriers.

Any specific projects or initiatives this will support

Funds will specifically support student attendance at regional and national bison conferences, producer tours, and organized visits to bison operations and facilities. These experiences give members the opportunity to network with producers, learn about bison management, health, handling, marketing, and conservation, and ask questions directly to those working in the industry. Additional initiatives include bringing guest speakers to campus, supporting travel for industry tours, and providing educational opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world bison production.

What makes your organization unique

The Bison Club is unique because it provides students with direct access to the bison industry and emphasizes learning through involvement and relationships. Our club actively connects members with bison producers and professionals, allowing students to build meaningful connections and learn from real experiences rather than just textbooks. Members are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and engage in hands-on learning through tours, conferences, and networking opportunities. The bison community is known for being welcoming and collaborative, and our organization gives students the opportunity to become part of that community while gaining valuable industry insight and professional connections.
