About

We are excited to share that Roger Williams University Baseball will be hosting our team Giving Day on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

This year, our program’s primary focus is to raise funds to invest in player development technology and equipment that will directly enhance how we train, prepare, and compete at the college level. These tools allow our student-athletes to develop more efficiently, stay healthy, and gain a competitive edge through modern analytics, video review, and advanced practice equipment.

Below is a breakdown of the key items we are seeking to purchase, along with their costs and how each investment directly impacts our program.
Equipment & Technology Priorities

Hudl (Video & Performance Analysis Platform)

Cost: $5,000
Hudl serves as a centralized video and analytics hub for our program. It automatically tags game and practice footage, syncs video with advanced statistics (pitch type, pitch location, spray charts, swing outcomes), and allows coaches and players to create and share teaching clips. This platform dramatically improves player development, opponent scouting, and film review efficiency.

GoRout (Coach-to-Player Communication System)
Cost: $3,000
GoRout provides secure, instant communication between coaches and players through wearable devices. This system eliminates complex hand signals, prevents sign-stealing, and improves tempo in both practices and games. It operates on its own secure cellular network, requires no Wi-Fi, and is built to withstand all weather conditions.

6-4-3 Charts (Advanced Baseball Analytics)
Cost: $1,200
6-4-3 Charts offers in-depth analytics for hitting, pitching, and defense, integrating data from multiple sources. It provides interactive reports, spray charts, pitch tracking, and situational analysis (count-based data, handedness splits, base situations). This allows our coaching staff to make data-driven decisions for player development, scouting, and in-game strategy.

Hack Attack Pitching Machine
Cost: $3,500
—or—
Junior Hack Attack Pitching Machine
Cost: $2,600
These state-of-the-art machines can throw multiple pitch types at the push of a button, allowing our hitters to train against game-like velocity and movement. They significantly enhance batting practice quality and prepare our players for high-level competition.

Blast Motion Swing Sensors
Cost: $150 per sensor
Blast Motion sensors provide detailed swing metrics such as bat speed, hand speed, attack angle, time to contact, and on-plane efficiency. These data points help hitters and coaches objectively evaluate swings and make targeted improvements.

PitchLogic Smart Baseballs
Cost: $600 per ball
PitchLogic baseballs contain built-in sensors that deliver real-time pitching data, including velocity, spin rate, spin efficiency, spin axis, arm slot, and pitch movement. This allows pitchers to receive immediate, professional-level feedback without expensive external systems.

Field & Training Upgrades
Cost: Varies
Additional needs include field maintenance upgrades, water bags, medicine balls, and other essential training tools that support strength, conditioning, and on-field preparation.

Your support on January 28, 2026, will have a direct and lasting impact on the growth of our program and the development of our student-athletes. Every contribution—regardless of size—helps us continue building a competitive, modern, and player-focused baseball program at Roger Williams University.

Thank you for your continued belief in our team, our mission, and our players. We are deeply grateful for your support and look forward to another exciting season representing the Hawks.
