The Tapia Center for Excellence and Equity in Education, founded in honor of Professor Richard Tapia, empowers underrepresented students in STEM.
Through Tapia Camps, we train and hire Rice students to teach and inspire both high schoolers and educators. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Tapia Camps, celebrating its ongoing service to Rice, Houston, and national communities. We are also involved with NSF SafeInsights, supporting the recruitment and training of the next generation of AI leaders in education.
Your generous gift will:
• Keep Tapia’s legacy alive by supporting efforts promoting excellence and equity in education.
• Build a community offering mentorship and job opportunities for Rice students and alumni.
• Establish K-12 scholarships for our one-week Tapia Camps that will teach critical STEM skills and foster engagement with Rice students and professors.
