Rice Laptop Program (R-LAP)

For this 24-Hour Challenge, gifts to the Student Success Initiatives-First Year Programs fund will support the Rice Laptop Program.

Launched in 2024, the Rice Laptop Program (RLP) ensures students have access to a reliable, high-quality laptop—an essential academic tool—helping close the digital divide for those who may lack the resources to purchase or maintain one. RLP provides qualifying undergraduate students with a new laptop, as inventory allows, along with ongoing maintenance and repair support through graduation, minimizing academic disruption from technology issues.

To address urgent mid-year needs such as irreparable laptop failures, we seek support to purchase five additional Dell Latitude laptops (32 GB, standard graphics), each costing approximately $1,750. Your gift will help students continue their education without technical interruption or financial hardship.
