Track & Field and Cross-Country

Last year, the Women’s Cross Country team placed third out of 26 teams at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship, hosted by Roanoke College, while the Men’s team finished sixth. Two Rhodes women earned the opportunity to compete for NCAA Cross Country titles, highlighting the depth of talent within the program. In Track & Field, the Women’s team placed fourth out of eight teams at the SAA Championships, while the Men’s team finished sixth, with numerous individual standouts making their mark. As the 2026-2027 season gets underway, the Lynx are poised to build on last year’s accomplishments and continue competing at the highest levels of the SAA and NCAA.

Rhodes Athletics has a deep history and contributes to the fabric of our campus community. The Lynx Championship Culture inspires our student-athletes to excel in the classroom, during competitions, and in the community. These are lofty expectations but goals that our student-athletes and coaches strive to achieve daily. Our goals do not waver, and winning in all three aspects of our culture takes commitment, dedication, and support from alumni, teammates, coaches, parents, faculty, and staff.

Donors play a significant role in our athletic culture, contributing over 30% of our total athletic budget. Your support of the men’s and women’s track and field and cross-country programs assists in our desire to create the best student-athlete experience in DIII athletics. Gifts help operate our program by providing additional funds to compete at the national level, including the costs of travel, meals, team apparel, team culture, and bonding opportunities.
