Gifts to Track & Field and Cross-Country contribute to...
Last year, both our men's and women's Track and Field teams finished 3rd at the SAA Conference finals, both teams ended up sending individual athletes to the NCAA tournaments. The men's Cross-Country team finished 4th in the SAA finals, while the women finished 3rd. This year, our T&F/XC teams are poised to improve upon their performance last year, bringing in a new T&F coach alongside Coach Shankman '80, and fighting for another chance at a conference title in the 2025-2026 season.
Rhodes Athletics has a deep history and contributes to the fabric of our campus community. The Lynx Championship Culture inspires our student-athletes to excel in the classroom, during competitions, and in the community. These are lofty expectations but goals that our student-athletes and coaches strive to achieve daily. Our goals do not waver, and winning in all three aspects of our culture takes commitment, dedication, and support from alumni, teammates, coaches, parents, faculty, and staff.
Donors play a significant role in our athletic culture, contributing over 30% of our total athletic budget. Your support of the men’s and women’s track and field and cross-country programs assists in our desire to create the best student-athlete experience in DIII athletics. Gifts help operate our program by providing additional funds to compete at the national level, including the costs of travel, meals, team apparel, team culture, and bonding opportunities.
